About the Camp

 

 

Ed Cooley

Hired on March 22nd, 2011, Ed Cooley is the 15th Head Men's Basketball Coach for Providence College. Coach Cooley brings to the Friars and The Ed Cooley Basketball Camp a strong coaching background with previous coaching experience at Fairfield, Boston College, Rhode Island, Stonehill, and UMass-Dartmouth. Coach and his staff have developed a program for campers that will be both informative and enjoyable.

 

 

 

The Camp

  • Coach Cooley and his staff of professional educators teach basic fundamentals to advanced theory.

  • The staff-student ratio ranges from 1:8 to 1:10.

  • Teams are coached by college coaches, high school coaches, and college players.

  • Each student plays on a team with players of his own age and ability.

  • Students play at least half of every game.

  • Students will work on skills such as ball handling, balance, defense, dribbling, rebounding, passing and shooting.

  • Students are taught conditioning exercises and drills used by college and pro players, as well as challenge and motivation techniques for the off-season.

  • Special guests share their success secrets with students.
